Baroq_Series consists of a collection of 15 different works based on small gouache paintings on cardboard, made in late 2023 and early 2024. This group of works is born from questions and reflections about the development of my painting within the parameters of abstract painting of the late twentieth century. In this disjunctive I return to my early paintings and return to the study of the baroque masters, with the purpose of rescuing light, space, the visual journey and drama. In this case, the drama without a story, with an open narrative, leaving the viewers the task of completing the work with their own imaginary.
Process: With a set of five different ellipses selected according to their shape and size, I was assembling relationships and combinations on the plane, these forms suggested spaces and volumes that I was rescuing allowing me to build from my subconscious and imaginary light, color, atmosphere and space in these works
Baroq_Series consiste en una colección de 15 obras diferentes basados en pequeñas pinturas al gouache sobre cartón, realizadas a fines del 2023 y a comienzos del 2024. Este grupo de obras nacen de cuestionamientos y reflexiones en torno al desarrollo de mi pintura dentro de los parámetros de la pintura abstracta de fines del siglo XX. En esta disyuntiva vuelvo a mis pinturas tempranas y retomo el estudio de los maestros barrocos, con el propósito de rescatar, la luz, el espacio, el recorrido visual y el drama. En este caso, el drama sin historia, de narrativa abierta dejándole al espectador la tarea de completar la obracon su propio imaginario.
Proceso: Con un set de cinco elipses diferentes seleccionadas según su forma y tamaño, fui armando relaciones y combinaciones en el plano, estas formas me sugerían espacios y volúmenes que fui rescatando permitiéndome construir desde mi subconsciente e imaginario la luz, el color, la atmósfera y el espacio en estas obras.
